So the contracts were smooth sailing, as I assumed it would be. Now the fun starts. This week, I have a pitch session with the head of the studio, Camille Jennings. She wanted to see me personally, most likely to discuss how cutting edge I planned on making these newest projects, but that's not here nor there. The bottom line is, we already have a greenlight on 2 films, now I just need to come up with three to five more.
I'm thinking a Sinbad vehicle, but contemporary. More urban, certainly more, inner city friendly. Something real cutting edge, like Dirty Harry, but it's Sinbad. Instead of a plain old heroin junkie robbing a bank, the junkie's a minotaur. Maybe a dryad? Instead of the chief of police being verbally castrated by the mayor because the loose cannon cop (Sinbad) caused astronomical destruction, well, the chief's Poseidon. I like where this is heading. It needs more topless scenes however. Maybe involving centaurs. Or a lapdance bar. Probably both.
Werewolves are popular. I'm thinking of a Howling meets Charlie's Angles vehicle. Lycanthropy for women, and there's three of them. Tricanthropy perhaps? Wait. Save the perhaps. Tricanthropy.
Here's one. Everyone's sick of zombies, I get it. they're slow, they fall apart, no sexiness. I'm thinkign about bringing back Mummies. FAST MUMMIES. They run up on you, brain you with a hook, and mummy you real quick.
This might be the best pitch session yet and I'm only on page one of my idea trapper keeper.
Perfect.
More news to come.
Yours in film,
Belafonte.
